Ajmer Sharif Deg holds immense spiritual significance in the holy Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty (R.A.), also known as Khwaja Gharib Nawaz. The Deg (holy cooking pot) is one of the most sacred symbols of service, charity, and unity at the Dargah Ajmer Sharif. Devotees from around the world contribute towards Deg Niyaz and Langer Seva to serve food to thousands of visitors daily.

The Deg at Ajmer Sharif was first introduced by Emperor Akbar as a mark of devotion and gratitude to Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (R.A.) after his prayers were fulfilled. Since then, it has continued as a centuries-old tradition of Sufi service and humanity. Food prepared in the Deg is distributed to devotees as Langar (blessed meal), symbolizing equality and brotherhood.

There are two main Degs inside the Ajmer Sharif Dargah — the Badi Deg (large pot) and the Chhoti Deg (small pot). Both are used for preparing delicious and sacred food offerings like rice, dal, and sweets, which are then served to the poor and pilgrims visiting the shrine.

Now, devotees can also participate in Online Deg Niyaz & Donation Services from anywhere in the world. Your offerings will be respectfully prepared and distributed in your name at the Dargah.

It was presented by Emperor Akbar, 4800 kgs of food can be cooked in it and the cost comes to about 1,50,000 Indian Rupees.

Ajmer Deg Small Degh choti Deg
It was presented by Emperor Jahangir , 2400 kgs of food can be cooked in it that approximately amount to 75,000 Indian Rupees.

 All these Deghs are cooked by Zaireen (pilgrims/devotees)
 who can afford to cook, through their respected Khuddams of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz. If you have a plan to cook Degh at any time of the year, please let me know in advance, so that i may make the necessary arrangements required, as Deghs are cooked all the year round. It can be cooked in your personal presence & in your absence too, on your behalf or any sort of Niyaz you want to cook other then Degh.

   Langars (free distribution of food for all the makhlooks (mankind)
   and this is now considered as one of the biggest charity one can offer.
  We arrange Langar, which includes one deg of biryani
   that can feed 100 people.
  Note: This should not be included as part of Zakat money.

• We make it possible for you to participate
   in all the activities of Dargah Sharief.
   The activities include milad, khatam of Quran,
  special monthly prayers for members etc.
   This entails becoming a member of our silsila.

• Make transport and lodging arrangement, package trips
   and also offer services of our guesthouse for free stay.

  for people visiting the Dargah Sharief
