Dargah Ajmer Deg – Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (RA)
The Deg at Dargah Ajmer Sharif is a symbol of generosity, love, and divine service established by Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty (RA), known as Khwaja Gharib Nawaz. This sacred cauldron is used to prepare Langar Niyaz — blessed food that is distributed freely to devotees visiting the shrine.

There are two holy Degs at Ajmer Sharif Dargah — the Big Deg and the Small Deg. Both were gifted by Mughal Emperor Akbar as a token of devotion after his prayers were answered at the Dargah. Since then, food has been cooked daily in these Degs for the poor and pilgrims — spreading Khwaja Baba’s message of compassion and humanity.

The Deg Niyaz holds great spiritual value; devotees believe that contributing to the Deg brings barkat (prosperity), dua (blessings), and sukoon (peace of heart). During the annual Urs of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, lakhs of people gather to witness this miracle of unity and love.

Visitors can offer Niyaz online or at the Dargah Sharif to become part of this sacred Sufi tradition that continues to bless millions worldwide.

It was presented by Ajmer Deg Emperor Akbar, 4800 kgs of food can be cooked in it and the cost comes to about 1,50,000 Indian Rupees.

Ajmer Small Degh
It was presented by Ajmer Deg Emperor Jahangir , 2400 kgs of food can be cooked in it that approximately amount to 75,000 Indian Rupees.

 All these Ajmer Deg are cooked by Zaireen (pilgrims/devotees)
 who can afford to cook, through their respected Khuddams of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz. If you have a plan to cook Degh at any time of the year, please let me know in advance, so that i may make the necessary arrangements required, as Ajmer Deg are cooked all the year round. It can be cooked in your personal presence & in your absence too, on your behalf or any sort of Niyaz you want to cook other then Ajmer Degh.

• Sufies, Dervash and Aulia Allah started the custom of arranging
   Langars (free distribution of food for all the makhlooks (mankind)
   and this is now considered as one of the biggest charity one can offer.
  We arrange Langar, which includes one deg of biryani
   that can feed 100 people.
  Note: This should not be included as part of Zakat money.

• We make it possible for you to participate
   in all the activities of Dargah Sharief.
   The activities include milad, khatam of Quran,
  special monthly prayers for members etc.
   This entails becoming a member of our silsila.

• Make transport and lodging arrangement, package trips
   and also offer services of our guesthouse for free stay.

• Make arrangement for donating a room
  for people visiting the Dargah Sharief
  We believe Khawaja Baba's blessings can cure any disease,
   business or personal problems.
