Ajmer Sharif Urs – Starting Dates & Their Sacred Significance

The revered Ajmer Sharif 814Th Urs begins with a series of deeply spiritual events leading up to the most sacred day, Chhati Sharif (6th Rajab). The festival officially starts in the month of Rajab (7th month of the Islamic calendar), marking the death anniversary of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA).

The starting date of Urs 2025 is 22 December 2025 – 1st Rajab 1446 AH
 Opening of the Jannati Darwaza (Gate of Paradise): This ceremonial event signifies the spiritual beginning of the Urs. Devotees flock to pass through the gate and offer prayers, believing it brings blessings and fulfills wishes.

 Urs Flag Hoisting – Before Rajab begins, the Urs is symbolically initiated with the flag hoisting ceremony on the Buland Darwaza. For 2025, this is scheduled for:

 17th December 2025 – This marks the traditional commencement of Urs preparations and is led by the Gaddi Nashin (spiritual custodian) of the Dargah.

Over the next few days, various spiritual events, Qawwali gatherings, Langar (free food distribution), and special prayers are held in the lead-up to:

 Chhati Sharif – the 6th day of Rajab (27th December 2025), considered the holiest day of the Urs.

Urs Ajmer Sharif 2025, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty Sanjari Summa Ajmeri (R.A.) honoured as Ata-e-Rasool (SAW) was born early in the morning on monday the 14 the Rajab of 535 Hijri. He se,ved and remained under training of Shaikh­o-Murshid Tariqat Hazrat Khwaja Usman Harooni (RA) for the period of complete Twenty years. He learned Elm-e-Batin and how to control con­sciousness and hertfelt desire. He came to Ajmer India via Macca Mukarrama, Madina Munawarra, Baghdad Sharif, Asfahan, Multan, Lahore and Delhi he selected soil of Ajmer for place of respermanently and spent his whole life for preaching of doctrines of Islam through love an peace and serving human being. He left this temporary world at the age of 97th on Friday the 6th Rajab of 633 Hijri since his ,demise on this auspous day an annual urs mubarak is celebrated every year as a mark of reverence and homage.

I am giving you an auspicious news that the Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Sanjari Chishty Summa Ajmeri Known as Gharib Nawaz (RA) will be held from 1st Rajab to 9th Rajab.
